This Month's Featured Topic: The Brave New World of Social Media
Presented by: Neil Giarratana, President & CTO of Lucidus Corporation

In this presentation, Neil Giarratana will shine light on the confusing world of social media including:
- An introduction to the tools and services you need to know
- Understanding the expectations of "well-connected" millenials regarding communication both in and out of the office
- Leveraging social media to broaden your reach (and increase success) in recruiting
- How potential applicants are getting the "inside skinny" on your business
- Social Media policies your employees (and your business) can live with

About the Presenter: Neil Giarratana is President & CTO of Lucidus Corporation, a leading internet application development & hosting company based in Keene, New Hampshire. Giarratana serves on the boards of MEDC, the Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce, the Keene Young Professionals Network and was named by BusinessNH Magazine as one of the "25 Leaders for the Future." He was a founder of the New England Adobe User Group and speaks regularly at conferences throughout North America.

Prior to founding Lucidus, Neil led an award winning consulting team for Lockheed Martin that specialized in building prototype information portals for the CIA and other intelligence organizations.

He and his wife are now "living the dream" of raising their two boys in the quintessential New England town of Keene, New Hampshire.

Hope you can join us for our March topic!

Future GMSHRM Chapter Meetings

Engaging and Motivating Employees

Presentation: Who doesn't want to feel happy, appreciated, and amply rewarded at work. According to Lynn Palmer, chief executive of the Canadian Council of Human Resource Associations, "This is not touchy-feely, conceptual stuff, it's about a business outcome. Those who focus on their employees and their customers will do better overall in terms of their investment." When you read statistics that tell us that at any given time 75% of the employees in a typical organization are at least passively searching for new jobs, it becomes crystal clear that paying attention to employee satisfaction is important to the bottom line. For most organizations, figuring out what it is that makes a good employee want to stay is the problem. Participants will take part in an activity that helps them understand how to identify what employees value within their own organizations and will leave with some tools that can be used immediately - at little or no cost.

About the Presenter: Piper C. Reason, MHSA, CDFI, JCTC, CWDP
Piper has worked for Second Start, an educational private corporation in Concord, for nearly ten years. Having worked as both a hiring manager and a career coach, she has a unique understanding of both sides of the issues that impact employee satisfaction and retention. As a speaker, facilitator, and trainer, Piper strives to build awareness and perceptions that actually change attitudes, behaviors, and lives. She loves being in the Monadnock Region where she has worked in human services and education for over 30 years.
