Session Overview:

This engaging half-day program equips Greater Monadnock SHRM HR professionals with practical tools to strengthen leadership through trust, empathy, communication, and humor. Grounded in emotional intelligence and psychological safety, participants explore how authentic leadership drives engagement, retention, and a positive workplace culture—while bringing a sense of fun back to work.

Through interactive exercises, case studies, and the “What’s Your Color?” personality training, attendees build skills in fostering trust, communicating with clarity, and adapting to different social styles. The session emphasizes connection, self-awareness, and the power of humor to enhance collaboration and reduce workplace tension. Participants leave with actionable strategies to lead authentically, communicate effectively, and create environments where people and performance thrive.

Speaker and Company Bios:

Susan Loynd, MA, SHRM-SCP, is an experienced human resources executive with over 25 years of expertise in HR management, operations, and leadership development. Currently serving as a Strategic HR Business Advisor for The Richards Group, Susan has developed and led various strategic HR initiatives, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) programs. She is also a seasoned facilitator and adjunct instructor, having taught a wide range of HR and leadership courses for the Community College of Vermont and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Susan specializes in conflict resolution, strategic planning, and team development, bringing a hands-on approach to leadership through interactive workshops such as “Being an Upstander,” emotional intelligence, and team building. Susan’s passion for fostering respectful and inclusive workplace cultures drives her mission to empower leaders and organizations to thrive.

Jeff Saari, CEO of Workplace Culture Solutions, founded his company in Keene, NH in 2007. His enthusiastic passion and life purpose is to support strategic, leadership and cultural excellence in small to medium size businesses and organizations.

He works with leaders to achieve a maximum level of emotional intelligence to share with their organizations. Jeff teaches communication and meeting facilitation skills, practices one-on-one and group coaching, and leads organizational retreats.

The skills he supports translate far and wide from personal life to the board room, to the shop floor. He works with organizations in diverse sectors: Non-profit, banking, service, retail, manufacturing, and education. Jeff has 15 years of coaching experience, a BA from Vermont College, and a Coaching Certificate from Coaching Training Alliance.

He is also an active faculty-adjunct member at Keene State College in Keene, NH. Jeff also has certifications in Mindfulness Meditation, Mediation, Gentle Teaching, and Structural Thinking. Two of his clients have received recognition as the 2011 and 2012 Entrepreneurs of the Year by the Hannah Grimes Business Center.

He lives in Keene with his wife and daughter. He has also coached in a variety of sectors including fitness, life, college, and couples and is passionate about fitness, nutrition, drumming, and spending time with his family.
